INNOVATION IN ACTION
RETHINKING THE AT-HOME FAN EXPERIENCE
The Premier League team Manchester City F.C. has announced a new global partnership with Sony Group Corporation (Sony) which aims to develop new digital fan experiences that will be at the cutting-edge of global sport. The club will conduct a proof of concept with Sony, which will leverage Sony’s groundbreaking technologies and Manchester City’s global fan base to develop new forms of digital content. With a footprint spanning all over the globe, the club must know that a vast majority of its fans will not be able to experience a game live. That means their digital offerings and content must be top of the line and engaging, in order to make the at-home fan experience just as valuable as the live and in-person experience.

INCLUSION IN GAMING AND DIGITAL COMMUNITIES
On the latest edition of the Fluid Fan Market Watch, Josh Walker unpacks a key piece of the gaming industry, inclusion. Women's players and teams have been featured in FIFA and NBA2K games in the past, but for the first time ever, NHL22 players can use the women's international teams from USA and Canada. The only other time females have been featured in an NHL game was on NHL13 when our own Angela Ruggiero and Canadian Hayley Wickenheiser were featured as special guest players. This may be a sign of more to come as the gaming industry makes a push to be more inclusive.

INVESTING IN WOMEN'S SPORTS TO BOLSTER NEW REVENUE STREAMS
Italian coffee maker Lavazza has extended and expanded its partnership with Arsenal to include the Premier League club’s women’s team. Lavazza became the English soccer club’s official coffee partner in 2018 and will now serve the same role for Arsenal Women, who are currently top of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League (WSL). The teams that invest in their women's teams and create diverse streams of revenue have a stronger chance of landing on our Top 25 Most Innovative Teams in the World rankings. If you want to be a part of our continued push to empower and build investment into the women's sports market while making your company better, then visit our website or thefanproject.co to find out how you can work with us.
