SETTING A NEW STANDARD FOR SPORTS MEDIA
On Friday, Beth Mowins made history by becoming the first woman to call an NBA regular-season game on ESPN. The play-by-play announcer called the Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers game alongside ESPN analyst and former NBA head coach Jeff Van Gundy, and Cassidy Hubbarth, who had sideline reporting duties. The former collegiate point guard was the first woman to announce play-by-play for an NFL game back in 2017, and is continuing to break barriers for women in sports media.
