INNOVATION IN ACTION

CREATING DIGITAL COMMUNITIES THROUGH TECHNOLOGY

National Basketball Association star Kyle Kuzma is partnering with Space Runners to launch a new series of nonfungible tokens (NFTs) focusing on sneakers. Space Runners is a digital sneaker brand bringing together fashion-forward designers, fashion houses, top celebrities, and crypto communities to create the “Wear2Earn ecosystem.” Stored on Solana Blockchain, the NFTs in this batch will be wearable over the browser with the Virtual Reality (AR) feature. The company will also provide social media filters for platforms like Instagram and Snapchat to make NFTs even more accessible. The sneaker community, sometimes called "sneakerheads" is a very passionate group, and it will be very interesting to see if the community will buy into the digital side of collecting. NFTs have caused quite the craze in the sports industry lately as fans want to own and share digital collectibles.
