INNOVATION IN ACTION

CULTURE AND SPORTS CREATING NEW REVENUE STREAMS

English Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. has teamed up with Warner Music UK’s Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA), the multi-award-winning label services division, to launch a ground-breaking new venture as the first UK football club to launch a record label. Wolves Records will see performing artists benefit from the reach of a Premier League football club’s global audience while also gaining access to ADA’s marketing and distribution expertise, giving unprecedented exposure and opportunities to emerging artists. European football clubs were strongly represented on our 2020 Top 25 Most Innovative Teams list because of their ability to create diverse revenue streams outside the traditional football gameday. This deal for Wolves will create new revenue streams, and potentially bring in a new set of fans through the artists of Wolves Records. Combining culture and sport to create diverse revenue streams could help land Wolves on next year's Top 25 list.
