INNOVATION IN ACTION

THE GROWING PRESENCE OF FEMALE COACHES

We've seen players turn coaches after their careers on the playing field or court were over, but last week the Dallas Mavericks hired current Los Angeles Sparks legend Kristi Toliver as an assistant coach for next season. The two-time WNBA Champion will finish her season with the Sparks and then be able to join the Mavericks' sideline. Toliver will be the seventh active female assistant in the league and the second in the Mavericks' history. The NBA has made great strides to hire female coaches, and this upcoming NFL season will see a record 16 teams with female coaches. These numbers are continuing to grow across all the major leagues, but there is plenty of work to be done.

The Fan Project Spotlight

THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN'

A recent study powered by the data of our Fan Project Partners at Zoomph highlighted the 50 most marketable athletes in sports. Having studied the market extensively with our Fan Project Partners, it was no surprise to us that female athletes were at the top of the list. The top 3 most marketable athletes are women, as well as 18 of the top 50. We have been focusing on how the industry needs to think differently about the investment in women’s sports, and how there is real fan data out there to prove it. It’s exciting to see more studies proving the business case for women’s sports. If you want to be a part of our continued push to empower and build investment into the women’s sports market while making your company better, then visit our website or thefanproject.co to find out how you can work with us.
