INNOVATION IN ACTION
CHANGING WHAT IT MEANS TO HAVE A TICKET TO THE GAME
The Sacramento Kings, in collaboration with LAVA and Flow, the blockchain that supports NBA Top Shot, announced the release of the first-ever Smart Ticket NFT Experience Pass. 100 fans will have the ability to test out the new NFT ticket technology at the California Classic, an NBA Summer League Event taking place this week. Select ticketed fans will be contacted to claim their Smart Ticket NFT Experience Pass, which will then be loaded into their mobile digital wallets with funds towards food and beverage and a limited edition digital NFT animation of the California Classic poster design. NFTs and blockchain technology continue to make a serious push into the sports industry and are changing the way we think of the fan experience. The days of holding a cardstock ticket are disappearing fast, fans want to own a piece of that memorable experience and technology is enabling teams to bring that dream to life.
