INNOVATION IN ACTION

REWRITING THE UNWRITTEN RULES OF BASEBALL

The San Diego Padres will be the first Major League Baseball team to don a jersey patch after the announcement of their partnership with Motorola. The jersey patch partnership is the first of its kind in Major League Baseball and will begin in the 2023 season. In addition to becoming the official jersey patch partner of the Padres, Motorola will serve as the presenting partner of the Padres Hall of Fame, including all-new interactive technology displays and product integration throughout the exhibit. Baseball joins the NBA as the second major U.S. league to adopt a jersey patch. We've also seen the NHL implement sponsorship on the players' helmets. Keep an eye out for future MLB clubs to join the Padres' pursuit of a patch partnership, and potentially the first NFL team to reach such an agreement.

The Fan Project Spotlight

A PRIME INVESTMENT TO DELIVER DIGITAL CONTENT

As the 26th WNBA season is gearing up to tip-off on May 6th, the Seattle Storm announced a major partnership with Prime Video. Prime Video will become the official streaming service of the Storm, and one of the first streamers to hold local broadcast rights with a WNBA team. Approximately 30 Storm games will be available to Prime Video customers throughout Washington state. In addition to coverage of the Storm, WNBA coverage on Prime Video returns with 17 exclusive, nationally televised in-season games, including the second annual WNBA Commissioner’s Cup by Coinbase and the Cup Championship Game on July 26. This will be the longest WNBA season to date as each team is slated to play 36 regular-season games, and the playoff series format has been extended as well.
