INNOVATION IN ACTION

BIG NAMES POURING INVESTMENTS ONTO THE PITCH

NBA superstar Kevin Durant and his business partner Rich Kleiman announced that 35 Ventures (35V) has become a minority owner in NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). 35V’s investment in the club is the latest big-name investor to see the potential in the business of women’s sports. According to the outlet, the investment will cater to Fluid Fans through “content creation, social media support, player relations, and community outreach.” Durant and Kleiman join an ownership group consisting of Tammy and Phil Murphy, Ed Nalbandian, Steven Temares, Carli Lloyd, Kristin Bernert, and Karen Bryant. Durant’s influence and star power in the New York market are already established and will certainly be a welcomed boost to the growing fanbase and reach of Gotham FC.

The Fan Project Spotlight

IT IS TIME TO DEMAND EQUALITY FOR EVERYONE

We at Sports Innovation Lab are proud to be an official partner of the Women's Sports Foundation's Demand IX initiative. Along with our support, it is backed by organizations such as the Billie Jean King Leadership Initiative, Just Women's Sports, and the National Women's Law Center. As we approach the 50th Anniversary of Title IX, we must reflect on what it means: Title IX benefits everyone. We are stronger together when we work to ensure that Title IX lives up to its original promise and full potential.

We demand equity. We demand justice. We demand fairness. We Demand IX.
