INNOVATION IN ACTION

CREATING PARTNERSHIPS ACROSS WOMEN'S SPORTS

Delta Airlines recently announced a partnership with the National Women's Soccer League and the Women's Sports Foundation. The airline will become the first official airline sponsor of the NWSL and will work with the WSF through their Athlete Ambassador Program. The NWSL deal represents Delta’s first major sponsorship of a women’s professional league and its first national league sponsorship deal. These partnerships come on the heels of Delta becoming a founding partner of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Women’s Mentorship Program. Brands and sponsors are beginning to diversify their partnerships across the women's sports industry and solidify the idea of growth and revenue in those markets.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Join us in celebrating International Women's Day, today March 8th, and find time to take a look at some of the recent initiatives and programs we've worked on to improve the state of women's sports. The industry has accomplished a great deal to bring more investment and equity to the women's sports industry in the past year since we launched The Fan Project. Although there's been progress, there's still plenty of work to be done. We've been utilizing data to unlock the business case of women's sports and prove to the industry that investing in women's sports is no longer a "nice thing to do" but a smart business decision. Happy International Women's Day to all the powerful female athletes and executives that have helped pave the way, and to all the future trailblazing women ready to make a difference.

The Fan Project Spotlight

ENSURING GLOBAL COVERAGE OF WOMEN'S SPORTS

As part of our Fan Project initiative, we created our Title IX Content Creator Grants, in which we gave $1,972 to four up-and-coming female entrepreneurs in the sports space. The value of $1972 honored the year Title IX was instituted, and we are looking forward to the 50th anniversary in June. We told the women to use the grants in whatever way they thought would bring about the most growth for their platforms. For Radha Gupta of She Talks Ball used the grant to upgrade her equipment and travel to cover the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2022. Radha's coverage at the tournament garnered over 2 million impressions on Twitter. Read more about Radha's experience and her multiple content platforms.
